www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball held a lead just about midway through the first half Wednesday evening, but were unable to maintain the pace as the City College of New York Beavers (6-4, 2-2 CUNYAC) claimed a 96-69 CUNYAC decision inside York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- CCNY held an early 6-1 advantage following an Elijah Patterson free throw.
- Bryan Goddette's layup at the 11:28 mark of the half gave the Cardinals their first lead (12-11).
- Ahead 16-15, the Beavers utilized an 11-2 burst to take a 27-17 edge.
- After Michael Litchfield's triple made the score 27-20, CCNY went on an extended 15-0 scoring spree to lead 42-20 with 3:30 remaining in the frame.
- Edward Beqiri's fadeaway jumper with three seconds showing on the clock closed out a 54-26 half for the Beavers.
- Ricardo Dixon's fastbreak dunk with 10:52 left gave CCNY a game-best 35-point lead (81-46).
- Brandon Barrett's jumper at 6:23 trimmed the deficit to 25 (86-61), the closest the Cardinals got the rest of the way.
- The Beavers outpaced York 15-7 in the final 5:25 to close out a 96-68 victory.
Leading the Cardinals
- Nivar produced his third consecutive 20+ point outing, pacing the squad with 20 points (8-of-17 FG, 4-of-10 3FG) to go along with five rebounds and a team-leading four assists.
- Barrett tallied 12 points and team-highs in rebounds (8) and blocks (3).
- Demitrius Gould generated 12 points (4-o-8 FG, 3-of-4 FG), three rebounds, and three assists.
- Rohan Singh contributed nine points.
- Godette followed with eight points and swatted two shots, while Malakai Clark chipped in with two steals.
For CCNY
- Dixon netted 21 points (10-of-16 FG), secured 11 rebounds, and blocked a team-best three shots.
- Justin Morety matched Dixon's high of 21 points (10-of-17 FG) and added three assists.
- Beqiri recorded a triple-double, tallying 19 points (8-of-12 FG, 3-of-4 FT), hauling in 12 rebounds, and diming up his teammates 11 times.
- Chris Stone added nine points (4-of-5 FG) and five assists.

The Cardinals shot 38.6 percent (27-of-70) from the floor, 33.3 percent (7-of-21) from downtown, and 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from the charity stripe. CCNY hit on an efficient 56 percent (42-of-75) from the field and made six triples. The Beavers dominated the rebound battle (46-25) and outpaced York in assists (28-17), and blocks (7-6). Both squads recorded four steals. Inside, CCNY scored 62 points in the paint, helped by 22 points off turnovers and 14 second-chance points.
