GREENWOOD, IN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced that York College women's tennis junior Maryam Khan is one of 569 NCAA Division III honorees named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Tennis Academic All-District Team®.

This distinction recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Khan is one of eight CUNYAC student-athletes named to the Academic All-District Team®. 

Residing in Queens, Khan completed her second year as a member of the women's tennis program in the Fall of 2023. Selected as a member of the CUNYAC Preseason Player to Watch list, she enjoyed a breakout season with a pair of victories in singles play to go along with a triumph in doubles. Khan captured a No. 3 singles win (8-6) against Lehman College (Sept. 27). Hosting John Jay College (Oct. 3), Khan claimed victory in No. 6 singles (6-1, 4-6, 1-0 [10-6]) and No. 3 doubles (8-7 [7-3]). Upping her competition level, she competed four times at No. 3 singles and twice at the No. 1 doubles level.

As a nursing major with a 3.73 cumulative grade-point average, Khan is a five-time Dean's List honoree and has twice been named a CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. In addition to her two years as a member of the tennis program, Khan was a member of the women's volleyball team in the 2022 campaign. 

Khan joins Cherub Autar and Tyler Dazey as York College's CSC All-District® members for the 2023-24 campaign. 

Outstanding student-athletes nominated for Academic All-District® recognition must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total games.
