GREENWOOD, IN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com)College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced that York College senior Jasmine Vega is one of 977 NCAA Division III honorees named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Volleyball Academic All-District® Team.

This distinction recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Vega is one of nine CUNYAC student-athletes named to the Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team. 

Majoring in marketing with a minor in real estate investment, Vega has a 3.560 cumulative grade-point average as a 3-time Dean's List honoree and has represented York on the Fall 2023 CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.  The 2024 CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team selection joins Cherub Autar as the York's second-consecutive CSC All-District® Women's Volleyball member.

Outstanding student-athletes nominated for Academic All-District® recognition must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total games.

Hailing from Queens, Vega completed her second campaign as a member of the women's volleyball program, appearing in 95 sets across 30 matches. Playing the libero position, Vega chipped in defensively with 142 career digs. In 2024, Vega finished second on the team with 90 digs and paced the squad with 250 total receptions. During her two years as a Cardinal, Vega has recorded four contests with 10+ digs, including a 10-dig effort in a victory over Medgar Evers College (Oct. 24, 2024).
