www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's soccer made their home debut Wednesday afternoon, falling to the CCNY Beavers (2-2) 8-0 in a non-conference meeting from Roy Wilkins Park.
First-Half Breakdown
- The Beavers kicked off the scoring early when Karen Pineda finished off a pass from MacKenzie Moreno at the 9:28 mark.
- CCNY netted six times in the next 15 minutes courtesy of four goals from Laura Villatoro, a strike from Charlotte Foberg, and another goal by Pineda.
- Leading 7-0, forward Gazelle Dunphy slotted home the Beavers' eighth goal six minutes before the interval.
- In net, after relieving Kresanta Jones (0-3) in the 19th minute, Naomi Alejandra Rodriguez made her debut for the Cardinals, saving three attempts.
Second-Half Breakdown
- The Cardinal attack came to life in the second frame, generating four shots on target and two corner kicks.
- Gema Guillen and Melanie Guerrero began the offensive improvement with shots outside the box.
- In the 69th minute, forward Zaria Neptune forced Beaver netminder Ashley Allison into an outstanding save down low.
- Defensively, York contained CCNY to zero shots and zero corners.

In addition to the scoreline, the Beavers produced more shots (21-5) and shots on target (11-4) than the Cardinals, while both squads took two corners. Between the posts, Jones and Rodriguez combined for three stops while Allison (1-0) totaled four saves to help achieve her first career win for CCNY.
