www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's tennis opened up their campaign Thursday with a full team present. Facing the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0 CUNYAC), the Cardinals fell 9-0 in a CUNYAC home battle from York College Courts.
"It was a great battle. The girls are playing with heart. All we have to do is continue practicing and then we are going to be much much better."-said head coach Branislav Grujic
All three doubles pairings tallied a game, as the duo of
Maryam Khan and
Lhakpa Sherpa won four games in No. 2 doubles. Facing opponent Rebecca Finney on the No. 3 singles court,
Jamelia Jordan recorded her first-career set triumph, winning 6-4 in the second frame before losing 10-2 in a super tiebreak thriller.
Julia Wyman debuted on the No. 6 singles court, totaling two games in the first set.
