Terrell Fullerton was announced Tuesday as a Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Divisions II-III Weekly Honorable Mention for games played January 30-February 5. He was previously named MBWA Honorable Mention twice (Jan. 2-8, Jan. 23-29) and took home the MBWA Divisions II-III Player of the Week for Jan. 16-22.
Fullerton averaged 11.0 points, 7.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 40 percent (10-of-25) from the floor in a 1-1 week for the Cardinals. Falling in a tightly contested 64-59 CUNYAC road loss against Baruch College (Jan. 31), Fullerton totaled six points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals. A lower-scoring effort than most games, Fullerton found other ways to impact the showdown with good ball movement and excellent defense. In a 79-53 CUNYAC home win against Medgar Evers College (Feb. 3), Fullerton ran the show, scoring 16 points (7-of-15 FG, 2-of-2 FT), dishing out a game-high nine dimes (one turnover), grabbing three boards and nabbing three steals. This performance was his sixth-consecutive game with at least five assists.
Across 21 games, the Brooklyn native is averaging 17.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.5 steals in 33.6 minutes per contest while shooting 44.2 percent (140-of-317) from the field, 28.9 percent (28-of-97) from beyond the arc, and 76.7 percent (66-of-86) from the charity stripe.
In the recent NCAA Division III Statistical Rankings Summary, Fullerton is tied for 30th in assists per game and is 113th in points per game. Additionally, Fullerton ranks highly among the CUNYAC leaders in scoring (3rd), assists (3rd), minutes per game (5th), free-throw percentage (5th), steals (9th) and rebounds per game (20th).
Fullerton and the Cardinals (7-15, 6-5 CUNYAC) square off Wednesday (Feb. 8) against the City College of New York Beavers (14-8, 9-2 CUNYAC) in a CUNYAC clash on the road at 7 p.m inside Nat Holman Gymnasium.
