GREENWOOD, IN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday that York College women's volleyball senior Cherub Autar is one of 769 NCAA Division III honorees named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team®.

This distinction recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Autar is one of eight CUNYAC student-athletes named to the Academic All-District Team®. 

Hailing from Georgetown, Guyana, Autar competed in 35 matches and played 110 sets during her two seasons as a Cardinal. Primarily playing as a setter, Autar led York with 144 assists and was second with 151 digs since 2022. As a senior, Autar set career-highs with 90 digs while contributing a career-best 17 assists to a win at Medgar Evers College (Sept. 9).  In her final home match on November 6 versus Yeshiva University, Autar scooped a career-best 21 digs.  As a marketing major with a 3.68 cumulative grade-point average, Cherub was a Fall 2022 CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection and is a 3-time Dean's List honoree.  

Outstanding student-athletes nominated for Academic All-District® recognition must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's sets played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total matches.
