www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer took the field Saturday afternoon against the John Jay College Bloodhounds (4-6-1, 2-1-1 CUNYAC), battling hard but ultimately falling 3-0 in a CUNYAC home bout from a rainy Aviator Field.
First-Half Breakdown
- John Jay had many opportunities in the opening 25 minutes to open up the scoring, but Cardinal netminder George Molina thwarted all dangerous attempts.
- Junior Guaman found the net for the Bloodhounds at the 29:01 mark, poking home a rebounded shot from left winger Brayan Alvarez.
- Searching for an equalizer, York's Luis Delgadillo saw his volley sail wide of the post following a 37th-minute free kick.
- Winning a penalty in the 41st minute, Mario Parano slotted one past Molina to extend John Jay's advantage to 2-0.
Second-Half Breakdown
- Threatening to put the match out of sight, Guaman forced Molina into an excellent save almost 10 minutes into the half.
- Justin Gharbin added the third goal for the Bloodhounds in the 70th minute, finding the bottom corner with his left foot following a pass by Charlie Metz.

Outside of the scoreline, John Jay held the edge in shots (23-1), shots on target (11-0), and corners (6-0). Molina (0-3) totaled eight high-caliber saves for York, while Tyler Solis (3-3-1) recorded a clean sheet.
