BOX SCORE NEW YORK --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer faced off Wednesday afternoon against the Hunter College Hawks (3-5-1, 2-0-1 CUNYAC) but could not prevail, falling 9-0 in a CUNYAC road meeting from Randall's Island.

First-Half Breakdown

• Saleel Eldin opened the scoring for Hunter six minutes in, slotting home a pass from Robin Sebastian.
• Following three saves from Cardinal goalkeeper George Molina, Marvin Mondesir tested the opposing goal for York's first shot on target of the match in the 15th minute.
• Still ahead 1-0, Kristopher Lage doubled Hunter's lead at the 23:26 mark, and Bradley Espejo made it a 3-0 advantage over a minute later.
• Abdullah Al Maghrabi wedged home a cross from Alejandro Sanchez to give the Hawks a 4-0 edge in the 32nd minute.
• Sanchez got his goal eight minutes before the interval after tapping home a shot from David Zlobinsky.

Second-Half Breakdown

• Al Maghrabi completed his brace just over a minute after the restart to give Hunter a 6-0 lead.
• Connor Sullivan tacked on Hunter's seventh goal in the 63rd minute.
• Sullivan made it 8-0 Hawks at the 75:56 mark.
• Ez Malik's free-kick goal closed out the scoring with six minutes to go, as the Hawks claimed a 9-0 victory.

Outside of the scoreline, Hunter owned the advantage in shots (46-1), shots on target (26-1), and corners (10-0). Molina (0-2) recorded a career-high 17 saves in the Cardinal net, the most since Ahmed Algendy's 18-save performance against Sarah Lawrence in September 2022. Matthew Heimowitz (3-5-1) stopped one shot for the Hawks.
