www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's tennis battled Tuesday against the John Jay College Bloodhounds (4-2, 2-0 CUNYAC), falling 7-2 in a CUNYAC home encounter from York College Courts.
Maryam Khan had another strong performance for the Cardinals. Partnering with
Lhakpa Sherpa on the No. 3 doubles court, they took down the duo of Manuela Orrego and Riya Shah in a tiebreaker. In No. 6 singles, Khan pipped Shah 10-6 in a thrilling super tiebreak. For No. 3 singles, Anema Opoku won a season-high five games. On the No. 5 singles court,
Jamelia Jordan tallied a career-best nine games.
"The team has improved. The scores do not indicate how they played. Mary does not miss practice and today was a result of that. Jamelia has also improved her play."-said coach Kathleen DeRienzo
