Terrell Fullerton was recognized Tuesday by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Divisions II-III Player of the Week for games played January 16-22.
Fullerton, who was named the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Player of the Week on Monday, averaging 24.5 points, 9.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting 60.6 percent (20-of-33) from the floor and 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the free-throw line in a 2-0 stretch for the Cardinals.
In a high-scoring 121-115 CUNYAC road win against Hunter College (Jan. 18), Fullerton recorded his third double-double of the campaign, totaling season-highs of 28 points (11-of-14 FG, 5-of-5 FT) and 14 assists (one turnover), while adding four rebounds and two steals to his stat line in 37 minutes of action. Fullerton closed out the week by producing his sixth-consecutive 20+ points performance, finishing with 21 points (9-of-19 FG) to go along with seven rebounds and five assists in leading York to an 88-70 CUNYAC home win against Brooklyn College (Jan. 20).
Across 17 games, the Brooklyn native is averaging 18.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.5 steals in 33.5 minutes per contest, while shooting 44.1 percent (116-of-263) from the field, 31.6 percent (25-of-79) from 3-point range, and 79.5 percent (58-of-73) from the charity stripe.
In the latest NCAA Division III Statistical Rankings Summary, Fullerton is tied for 45th in assists per game and 92nd in points per game. Fullerton also ranks among the CUNYAC leaders in scoring (3rd), assists (3rd), steals (8th), minutes per game (2nd), free-throw percentage (4th) and rebounds (16th).
Fullerton and the Cardinals (5-13, 4-3 CUNYAC) close out their homestand Tuesday (Jan. 24) with a CUNYAC showdown against the John College Bloodhounds (4-14, 3-4 CUNYAC) at 7 p.m inside York College Gymnasium.
