FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball senior center Mac-Dege Dessources was recognized Monday by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as the Player of the Week, released by league officials for games played November 14-20.

The CUNYAC Preseason Player of the Year then scored 23 points to lead the Cardinals to a 76-49 win at the University of Valley Forge (Nov. 19), becoming the program's ninth member of the 1,000-point club. Dessources scored 13 of her 23 points (10-of-19 FG) during the opening half and added 15 rebounds (six offensive) to her stat line to record her 44th-career double-double (third of the season). In the process, Dessources became the program's inaugural member of the 1,000/1,000-club for points and rebounds. Dessources had previously grabbed her 1,000th-career rebound on November 12 against Sarah Lawrence College.

Four games into the season, Dessources is averaging 18.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals while shooting 45.5 percent (30-of-66) from the floor and 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the charity stripe in 26.3 minutes per contest. The Harlem native ranks among the CUNYAC leaders in points per game (3rd), rebounds per game (2nd), blocks per game (T-4th), field goal percentage (T-4th), and free-throw percentage (13th). In the latest NCAA Division III Statistical Rankings Summary, Dessources ranks 13th in double-doubles, 31st in offensive rebounds per game (5.3), and 50th in rebounds per game.

The Cardinals (2-2) return to action Saturday (Nov. 26) against the Pratt Institute Cannoneers (0-6) at 2 p.m in a non-conference tilt from Medgar Evers College's Cougars Cave in Brooklyn.
