FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College junior Nadaysia Nivar was recognized Wednesday by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as one of the conference's women's volleyball sportsmanship selections. 

Nivar competed in every match, ranking third in assists (12), fourth in kills (13), fourth in digs (44), and second in blocks with five. She had a season high four kills against the Medgar Evers College Cougars (Oct. 25) during York's season finale. 

"Nadaysia is unselfish and committed to the team's performance and progress before her own. She is always willing to help out where it benefits the team. She always has a positive attitude and is a role model for those around her. Her positivity spills out to not just her teammates and coaches but also to her opponents. She is always first to greet a team upon arrival and a liaison for our team when we are away. Nadaysia's integrity will never be compromised, and her ability to be gracious in the face of adversity makes her an ideal candidate for the Sportsmanship Award."-said head coach Christy Herring
