@yorkcardinals’ Sanchez named CUNYAC Men’s Soccer All-Star; Conde lands on Sportsmanship Team

York College produced a 2022 CUNYAC Men’s Soccer All-Star in Stanley Sanchez while Alex Conde represented the program as a Sportsmanship Team selection

FLUSHING, NY -- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer garnered recognition Monday when the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its 2022 year-end awards.

Hailing from East Elmhurst, New York, Stanley Sanchez has started in all 11 games in the Cardinal midfield. Sanchez has contributed to four scoring plays, netting goals against Hunter College (Sept. 28) and Lehman College (Oct. 8) while distributing assists against Pratt Institute (Oct. 29) and Sarah Lawrence College (Sept. 19). In his first year with the program, Sanchez currently leads York with two assists and is tied for the team lead with 11 shots on goal. Sanchez ranks second on the team in points (6), goals (2), and shots (18), and third in minutes played (934). With the selection of Sanchez, York has produced a freshman CUNYAC All-Star for the third consecutive season.

Alex Conde, a native of Rochdale, New York, has started in nine games as an anchor in York's defensive attack.  In his first season at York, Conde became York's sixth Sportsmanship Team selection since 2014, and third in as many seasons.

"Alex has displayed a deep passion and commitment for the sport. He is caring, kind and respectful to his teammates, opponents, coaches and games officials. His conduct on and off the field is what we expect of a student-athlete," said head coach Courtney Boothe
