JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's tennis fell 9-0 in a CUNYAC home encounter against the Lehman College Lightning (2-7, 1-2 CUNYAC) from York College Courts. 

"All the girls fought hard and the score did not reflect that. Each day they are getting better and better."-said assistant coach Kathleen DeRienzo.

Taylor Bellmon impressed for York. She and doubles partner Javenia Jordan racked up three games in their match. Facing singles opponent Shelby Gonzalez, Bellmon obtained ten games across two sets, a season-high for the Cardinals.

"Since it was Taylor's birthday, she had the extra drive to fight hard in doubles with Javenia and get to a second set tiebraker playing a very close match. Her progress is pure heart. As it is with all of our players."-DeRienzo added

Maryam Khan continued her growth, taking a game off of her singles matchup Effie Pang. Kadine King also got in on the action for the Cardinals, as the freshman obtained her first career game against Mary Grande.
