www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball returned to their non-conference portion of the schedule Tuesday evening with a 95-61 road loss to the New York University Violets (7-1) inside NYU Brooklyn Athletic Facility in Brooklyn.
How it Happened
- The Cardinals jumped ahead 1:59 in with a layup by Guillermo Hernandez to break the scoring ice.
- Both teams traded leads until NYU went on an 18-2 scoring spree to go up by 16 points (24-8) with 12:19 showing on the first-half clock.
- Quran Dublin drained a three-pointer at the 10:20 mark to pull York within 13 (27-14) before NYU outscored the Cardinals by 17 (29-12) the rest of the way to hold a 56-26 advantage at intermission.
- NYU maintained a 30-point lead for the final 20:27 and went up by as many as 44 (75-31) with 12:18 remaining.

Dublin produced 13 points and four steals to pace York.
Mert Zor netted 12 points off the bench while
Donald Hartley Jr. scored 11. Hernandez grabbed eight points and swatted a pair of shots as
Devine Chisholm nabbed two steals.
Bobby Hawkinson poured in a game-high 18 points (8-of-10 FG) to go with 14 rebounds, two blocks and one steal to spark NYU to victory. Jacob Sussman (13 points), Harrison Whatley (12 points) and Alex Maticiuc (11 points) all scored in double-figures.
York finished the game shooting 32.8 percent from the field (21-of-64), 22.2 percent from three-point range (4-of-18) and 55.6 percent from the free-throw line (15-of-27) as NYU connected on 47.3 percent from the floor (35-of-74), 38.5 percent from beyond the arc (15-of-39) and 90.9 percent from the stripe (10-of-11). York outplayed NYU in fast-break points (16-10) while both teams drew even in blocks (4-4). NYU won the boards battle, 35-26, scoring 20 second-chance points off 13 offensive rebounds. The Violets scored 21 points off 16 Cardinal miscues and also held the edge in assists (24-5), steals (7-6) and bench scoring (53-21).
