JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College Intramurals hosted their annual Turkey Trot Run/Walk in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Canned Food Drive on Tuesday afternoon from a sunny Health & Physical Education Complex Backfield.  The event included students, faculty and staff from the campus community participating in the Turkey Trot while supporting the efforts of the canned food drive to directly benefit the York College Food Pantry.  In total, over 100 canned/non-perishable food items were collected by the generosity of the campus community, which were then donated to the York Food Pantry by SAAC.  SAAC not only ran a successful canned/non-perishable food drive, but they also volunteered as course marshals for the 1.1-mile race.



Taylor Bellmon of the women's cross country, soccer, track & field programs completed the course in 9:41.66 as the top finisher to claim the student title.  Ahmed Elgendy of the men's soccer, swimming and volleyball programs covered the course second in 10:39.15, while Prof. Reinold McNickle of the Department of Health & Human Performance finished third overall in 10:40.32 to earn the faculty/staff title.
