www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's cross country teams competed Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park in a dual meet against the Lehman College Lightning. Â
The Cardinal women topped Lehman, 25-30, paced by
Taylor Bellmon's second-place finish on the 6k course in 40:46.3.Â
Jaylene Coye followed in third place at 41:13.4 while
Nayelly Rojas clocked in at 44:44.1 to finish fifth.Â
Shalanie McIntosh (46:14.2) and
Clesa Deane (46:14.6) rounded out York's scoring five in seventh and eighth place, respectively.  Â
In a field of 10, Lehman's Glory Odeh won the race in 29:25.9.Â
On the men's side, Lehman edged York, 22-35.Â
Djelili Okoro was York's top-finisher in the 8k race, registering a time of 37:50.6 in his debut to cross the line second.Â
Andrew George turned in a fifth-place showing in 41:55.6 and
Glenver Stuart checked in at 45:46.0 to grab seventh place.Â
Ryan Lahens took 10th (51:06.6) as
Hakeem Griffiths followed in 11th (51:06.6).Â
Anthony Esguerra completed York's lineup in 12th place (55:41.7). Â
Jesusalberto Fernandez led Lehman to victory in a time of 35:19.5 as thetop performer in the field of 13.Â
The Cardinals return to the Van Cortlandt Park trails on Wednesday (Oct. 27) at the Monroe College Mustang Invitational at 10 a.m.
