FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) The CUNYAC announced Thursday evening that York College men's soccer freshman forward Marvin Mondesir has been named a second-team All-Star while senior midfielder Fabrice Pierre-Paul was selected to the Sportsmanship Team.  The Cardinals have now garnered All-Star selections in four-straight seasons, while the second team distinction is the program's first since Maxwell Ogujiuba in 2017.

Mondesir scored a team-leading seven goals to finish the season with 15 points in 13 games played.  He garnered the program's first CUNYAC Rookie of the Week (Oct. 7-13) nod since 2014, during a stretch that saw him score goals in three-straight games.  Mondesir tallied a hat trick (first-career) against Baruch College followed by two goals versus John Jay College, including his first-career game-winning tally in the 63rd minute.

The Brooklyn native leads the CUNYAC in shots on goal per game (2.15) and shots per game (3.77) while ranking among the league leaders in points per game (T-7th, 1.15), points (T-8th), goals (T-8th), game-winning goals (T-9th), shots on goal (2nd, 28) and shots (3rd, 49).  Mondesir currently ranks among the NCAA Division III statistical leaders in penalty kicks (3rd, 3), shots on goal per game (40th) and shots per game (71st).

Pierre-Paul, a resident of Elmont, New York, saw time in five games to garner York's first sportsmanship team selection since Tyrese Jackson was recognized in 2017.  He was one of seven members selected to the Sportsmanship Team, and the Cardinals have now been recognized with three sportsmanship honorees in four years.
