Triple CUNYAC Weekly Honors for York Cardinals
JAMAICA, N.Y. — Senior field thrower Dammon Trimmingham (Brooklyn, N.Y./UFT Charter) was named Field Athlete of the Week and Rookies Shevon Walker, (Fr., St. Andrews, Jamaica/Transit Tech) and Devine Chisholm (Fr., Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey HS) we're selected as Rookie of the Week in Track and Basketball as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Trimmingham threw season-bests in the weight throw and shot put events at the Gotham Cup last Friday. He threw distances of 11.24 meters and 11.08 meters, respectively. While Walker ran a time of 23.72 in the 200-meter dash at the Gotham Cup marking a new personal-best for the first-year Cardinal.
On the Men's Basketball side, Chisholm helped York to a 1-1 week with 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in a non-conference loss to Keystone last Monday, while adding 10 points with four rebounds and three assists in an 86-52 win over Hunter on Friday.
Next up for the Cardinals in Track and Field is the NYC DIII Invitational at the Armory on February 2nd at 1:00 PM and Men's Basketball's next contest is tomorrow, January 23rd at 7:30 PM at home against Brooklyn College.
