Men and Women's Swim teams fall short on the road

Bronx, N.Y. --- York College men and women's swim teams competed on January 15th, Tuesday evening. The women's team fell short to Lehman College by a score of 55-79. The men's team were out paced by Lehman as they also fell by a score of 72-85.
 
Juan Rodriguez led the Cardinals in the 100-yard breast stroke men's competition and finished first (1:19.91). Jeremy Sapeg placed first in the 100-yard fly event (1:23.33). Anthony Nazario completed the 1,000 free style competition placing 2nd (17:11.79). Juan Rodriguez also competed in the 50-yard free style competition finishing 2nd (0:27.24). 
 
Jeremy Chao, Jeremy Sapeg, Anthony Jordan and Frederis Tapia all collaborated with a total time of 2:05.50 in the 200-yard free style relay finishing the event in 1st place.
 
On the women's side, Dorianny Rojas paced first in the Senior 100-yard backstroke competition (1:59.62). Mariela Rosario placed first in the Women's 200-yard IM competition with a total time of 3:07.33. In the women's 200-yard free style, Shantusha Kanhai finished in 2nd place (2:44.86).
 
Argenis Morales, Geraldine Guese, Dorianny Rojas and Mariela Rosario finished 2nd in the 200-yard free relay (2:42.38).
 
The Cardinal's are back in action on Thursday, January 17th as the women's swim team takes on John Jay College at home at 6:30pm and the men's team will be on the road vs the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00pm.
