Women's Soccer Loses to College of Mount St. Vincent

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - York College looked to redeem itself against the College of Mount St. Vincent after dropping their first two matches of the season. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, they suffered an 8-1 non-conference defeat at the hands of the Dolphins.

Mount St. Vincent opened up the scoring in the 9th minute on a goal by Christine Britton who also added two more goals and an assist on the day. The Dolphins found the back of the net 4 times in each half. 

Cardinals Junior Diamond Jackson (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville HS) starting in goal had 8 saves and Freshman Diana Velasquez (Bayshore, NY/Brentwood HS) broke through to score the first goal of the season at the 73rd minute to put York on the board. 

York College will return home Saturday, September 8th playing host to Clarks Summit University at Randall's Island. The match is set to kick off at 12:30 p.m.
