JAMAICA, N.Y. -- Junior Geraldine Guese (Astoria, N.Y./William Cullen Bryant HS) was victorious at No. 1 singles but the York College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 CUNYAC decision to John Jay College on Saturday morning.

Guese won in straight sets, 6-4, 3-0 (retired) to secure her first collegiate win in the Cardinals (0-2, 0-2 CUNYAC) home opener.

The Bloodhounds won the remaining matches at love to improve to 6-2, 3-1 in the CUNYAC.

York hosts Baruch College on Tuesday, October 2 with first serve at 3:30 p.m.
