Women's Volleyball Drops Conference Match to John Jay

NEW YORK, N.Y.— The York College women's volleyball team struggled to stop John Jay College on Thursday, as the Bloodhounds defeated the Cardinals 3-0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-4)
 
York had no answer for John Jay's Kimberly Rodriguez, who finished with a match-high nine aces and 18 assists.
 
York only had two kills as a team on the night compared to John Jay's 28 kills. Senior Nicolasa Restituyo lead York with six digs, two blocks and an ace. Freshman Kiara Gonzalez had two assists and two digs. 
 
John Jay was never really threatened in the match, other than the second set when the two teams kept it close.  However, the Bloodhounds pulled away midway through the set.  In the first and third set, the Bloodhounds jumped out to a big lead and never looked back.

With the loss, York is now 0-7, 0-4 CUNYAC.  John Jay evens their mark to 3-3, 1-3 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will continue their road trip in a multi-match against CCNY at 12 p.m. and St. Joseph's College (L.I.) at 2 p.m. in Patchogue on Saturday.
