BROOKLYN, N.Y.— York's
Ralph Ramos kept his perfect singles record alive, but it was not enough as the Cardinals fell to Brooklyn College, 7- 2, in men's tennis on Tuesday afternoon.
Ramos improved to 4-0 in singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5 singles, but Brooklyn would win four other singles matches and swept doubles play to get the win.
Also earning a win for York—the first of his career—was
Luis Portorreal who won 6-1, 7-5 at #6 singles.
York had its chances in other matches.
Hasnain Khatri was edged, 6-4, 6-4 at #1 singles and
Felix Liew lost a close first at #3 singles before ultimately losing 6-4, 6-1.
With the loss, York drops to 0-4 overall and 0-4 CUNYAC. Brooklyn improves to 3-3, 2-1 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will host Baruch College on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
