JAMAICA, NY- The York College women's basketball team dropped its final game of the season on senior night against Brooklyn College, 101-61.
York's
Karen Bellamy scored a total of 18 points, leading her team, while also having two steals in her final game as a Cardinal. Senior
Giovana Rosado scored 12 points and
Dayana Jacome scored eight points while leading the team with three assists.
It was the last game for seniors,
Karen Bellamy,
Giovana Rosado,
Allison Ahmed and
Juliet Matthews. Matthews finished her final game scoring two points, with two assists and one block. Ahmed had eight points and six rebounds.
The game started off even, until Brooklyn's Taylor George scored a three pointer to give her team a ten-point lead towards the end of the first quarter. By the start of the second quarter, Brooklyn kept on increasing its lead and by halftime, they were leading by 29 points.
Brooklyn's Karen Mak led her team in scoring with 13 points and Taylor George and Michelle Pena followed Mak with 12 points.
Brooklyn College improves their overall record to 22-3, 15-2 CUNYAC.
York finishes their season with a record of 8-17, 5-11 CUNYAC.
