NEW YORK, N.Y.—The York College women's basketball team had no answer for Hunter College on the road Friday night, losing by a score of 70-32.
Jade Aponte scored a game-high 28 points, making 7-of-11 shots from three-point range to lead the Hawks. York's
Evanda Redwood once again led York in scoring with 12 points, while also adding nine rebounds.
Mayan Charles finished with eight points and nine boards.
York shot just 27 percent from the field and did not hit a three-pointer on the night. Hunter didn't shoot great from the field overall (37.7%) but made them when they counted most, connecting on 40 percent of its three-point shots.
York also once again struggled to hold on to the ball, turning it over 29 times, leading to 34 points off turnovers for the Hawks.
The Cardinals fall to 1-12, 1-4 CUNYAC, while Hunter improves to 8-5, 4-1 CUNYAC.
York has a quick turnaround, as they face Brooklyn College on the road Monday at 5 p.m.
