York Men’s Basketball Falls to #13 Ramapo College

JAMAICA, N.Y.— The York College men's basketball team fell to Ramapo College on Monday night, 97-63, in non-conference matchup.
 
The Roadrunners took the lead straight from the beginning and never looked back. Ramapo came out and showed why they are #13 in the country, shooting 57.6% from the field and 63.6% from behind the arc.  Going into the locker room the Roadrunners had a 53-31 advantage.
 
The Roadrunners continued to extend their lead after halftime, extending their lead to as many as 41 points.
 
Thomas Bonacum and James Long each led the Roadrunners with 16 points. The bench was able to provide 43 points for the Roadrunners in the victory. Ramapo also took advantage of the Cardinals' turnovers, scoring 26 points off turnovers.
 
Jean Joseph led the Cardinals with 14 points, while Edwin Sainvil added 11 points and was 3-for-4 from behind the arc. The Cardinals scored 38 points in the paint and the bench was able to contribute 21 points in the loss. York shot 37.1% from the field and 30.8% outside the arc.
 
After tonight's game, the York Cardinals drop to 2-16 on the season, while Ramapo improves to 17-1. Up next for the Cardinals will be a game on the road, Wednesday at 5 p.m. against Lehman College in Bronx, N.Y.
