BRONX, NY— The York College women's volleyball team played a sloppy match against CUNYAC rival Lehman College, which resulted in a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-22) loss to the Lightning Thursday.
York (2-6, 1-2 CUNYAC) beat itself in many ways, committing 21 attack errors and 12 service errors. They also allowed the Lightning to serve up 16 aces. York did a nice job defensively, limiting Lehman to a hitting percentage .017, but the mistakes were too much to overcome.
In the loss,
Shauncia McClendon had three kills and eight aces.
Tiandra Jones led York with five digs.
Lehman (4-3, 2-1 CUNYAC) was led by Salveira Gonzalez, who had a match-high nine kills. Lindsay Pantaleon added seven kills.
York will be back at it this weekend with a home tri-match. They battle William Paterson University at 12 p.m. and Clarks Summit University at 4 p.m.
