York Women’s Volleyball Swept by Baruch

BOX SCORE
NEW YORK, NY— The Baruch College Bearcats—the defending CUNYAC women's volleyball champions— had little trouble defeating the York College women's volleyball team on Thursday evening, topping the Cardinals, 3-0 (25-4, 25-8, 25-10).

It was an ominous start for the Cardinals in the match, as Baruch opened the first set scoring 16 answered points, with six of those points coming from aces by Crystie De La Cruz.  The next two sets did not fare much better, with Baruch opening up a 12-4 advantage in the second set and a 10-3 lead in the third.

The Bearcats hit .302 as a team, while holding York to its worst hitting percentage of the season. Baruch improves to 7-8, 3-0 CUNYAC, while York is now 1-8, 1-3 CUNYAC.

The Cardinals will try to rebound from the tough loss on Saturday when they host a tri-match.  York will take on the College of Mt. St. Vincent at 12 p.m. and William Paterson University at 4 p.m.  Mt St. Vincent and William Paterson will face each other at 2 p.m.
