Diron Duah Nets Two Goals as York Defeats Sarah Lawrence College, 5-0

BOX SCORE
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – On the heels of its 4-2 win last Friday, York College got their second victory in a row on Monday night by defeating Sarah Lawrence College, 5-0—thanks in large part to freshman Diron Duah, who finished the evening with two goals and an assist.

The Cardinals dominated for the most of the match, with senior Andre Adelson scoring in the seventh minute, by finishing off an assist from player of the match: Diron Duah.  The score would remain the same until shortly after halftime, when sophomore Albert Lucas scored in the 48th minute, lobbing the ball over Sarah Lawrence goalkeeper James Berry to put the Cardinals up 2-0.  Senior Jordan Chin added onto the scoring in the 57th minute to record his first goal of the season.

Duah would put the nail in the coffin, scoring the next two goals for the Cardinals in the 74th and 89th minute.

Berry recorded seven saves, and Ishaan Pujari had three shots on goal for the Gryphons.  York freshman keeper Mohamed Elbarbary earned his first career shutout.

Sarah Lawrence now falls to 0-3 on the season and the Cardinals, sitting at 2-3, are looking to get to .500 this coming Saturday, September 20th when they take on The City College of New York at Randall's Island, Field #74.  Kickoff is at 9:30 a.m.
