BOX SCORE BROOKLYN, N.Y. – After being shutout in each of their first three matches, The York College men's soccer team scored early and often to defeat the College at Old Westbury, 4-2.
The Cardinals scored all four of their goals in the first half, the first being a laser from the foot of
Rachidi Amadou, who scored on a free kick from the 18-yard line in the eighth minute. After the Panthers' Jessie Eyoma tied the score at one apiece just over a minute later, York responded with three goals over the next eleven minutes to go into halftime with a 4-1 lead.
Andre Adelson scored the second and third goals with assists from
Jordan Chin and
Remi Molake respectively.
Albert Lucas then capped the scoring for York in the 20th minute following another nice pass from Chin.
Old Westbury added another goal late in the second half, but the Cardinals' lead was too steep of a mountain to climb, as York went on to win the match.
With their first win, York's record is now 1-3, while Old Westbury suffered their first loss to move to 4-1. The Cardinals will look to build off this victory on Monday night, as they face Sarah Lawrence College at home at 7:00 p.m.
