Men’s Soccer Overmatched by Rutgers-Newark

NEWARK, N.J.—The early-season struggles for the men's soccer team continued on Wednesday, as the Cardinals fell to a talented Rutgers-Newark University team by a score of 6-0.
 
The Scarlet Raiders scored three goals in the first half and then doubled up the score in the second half to round out the scoring.  RNU's Raphael Aruajo gave his team a comfortable lead early with a pair of goals in the first 13 minutes of action.  Alex Torres also scored a pair of goals that put the match well out of reach in the second half.
 
The Rutgers-Newark defense was also outstanding on the evening, holding York to just six shots, four of which were on net. 
 
With the loss, York drops to 0-3, while Rutgers-Newark is now 4-2.  The Cardinals will return to action on Friday with a home match at the College of Old Westbury at 3:30 p.m.
