John Jay Defeats Women’s Soccer

NEW YORK N.Y. – The York women's soccer team faced off against John Jay College of Criminal Justice this past Saturday. It was another tough day for the Cardinals as they lost the match 4-0.

The Bloodhounds would score early in the match, with Zola Campbell burying a shot into the back of the net from outside the box in the 9th minute to give John Jay a 1-0 lead, which would be the only goal scored in the first half. 

The Bloodhounds would score again, seven minutes into the second half, with Faith Howell finishing off an assist from Zola Campbell, giving John Jay a two-goal advantage. Katelyn Davis would chip in with a goal of her own in the 68th minute, and Howell would score again in the 80th minute to seal the deal for John Jay.

Though conceding four goals in the match, Sarah Hilaire recorded 19 saves for York College.

The Cardinals now have a 2-10 overall record, 0-3 in conference matches. York will be facing Brooklyn College on the road this coming Monday, October 20th. Kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m.
