JAMAICA, N.Y.— The York College women's tennis team lost to Hunter College, 9-0, in their final CUNYAC match of the 2014 season.

The loss puts York's record at 1-8 overall and 0-6 in CUNYAC play.  The defeat also means that York will play the College of Staten Island in the CUNYAC quarterfinals on the road on October 19.  The time for that match will be announced shortly.

The win for Hunter means the Hawks (5-1 CUNYAC) have clinched the top seed in the CUNYAC playoffs and will earn a bye into the semifinal round.

The Cardinals will have a pair of non-conference matches to prepare for next week's CUNYAC tournament.  York visits St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Rutgers-Newark University on Friday at 6 p.m.
