BRONX, N.Y. – The York College's women's soccer team took on Sarah Lawrence College Sunday morning. It was tough day for the Cardinals as they lost 2-0 to the Gryphons.
The Gryphons scored early in the first half, in the 15th minute, after Luana DeBorst, who after receiving a through ball down the sideline from Kaylen Dornan, dribbled the ball into the box and finished it off past Cardinals' goalkeeper,
Kiara Libreros, to give Sarah Lawrence the lead.
Later in the 60th minute, the Gryphons would again find the back of the net, as Sadie Zavgren, would gain possession of the ball at midfield and dribbled around the York defenders, to give Sarah Lawrence the insurance goal.
York now falls to a 2-8 overall record, while Sarah Lawrence improves to 3-7. The Cardinals are back in action again this coming Monday, as they travel on the road to take on Purchase College. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
