Men’s Soccer Falls to John Jay in 2 OT

NEW YORK, N.Y. – With just three minutes remaining in the second overtime, John Jay's William Ortiz scored a goal to lift the Bloodhounds to a 3-2 victory over the York College men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
 
York got out to a 2-0 advantage and looked to be in control of the match, but two late goals by John Jay sent the match in overtime, where the Bloodhounds would eventually get the game-winnier. 
 
McLaney Moise opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when he scored off a corner kick to put York up 1-0. Then in the 71st minute, Brandon Yotagri scored on a long kick outside the box to make it 2-0. 
 
But John Jay cut the deficit in half with a goal in the 79th minute when Besian Shala scored on a breakaway.  They then tied it in the 86th minute with a goal from Pablo Rojas.
 
With the loss, York drops to 3-6, 1-2 CUNYAC.  John Jay improves to 2-8-1 and 2-1 in the CUNYAC.  York will host Baruch College on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
