Brooklyn Pulls Away in Second Half to Top Men’s Soccer

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— After a closely-contest first half, the Brooklyn College Bulldogs netted three-second half goals to pull away and defeat the York College men's soccer team, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Brooklyn' Oleg Tykhonravov scored the match's first two goals to lead the Bulldogs.  The first goal came in the 28th minute when the York keeper dropped a cross into the goalie box. Tykhonravov picked up the loose ball and scored to break the scoreless tie.
 
The score would remain the same until the 60th minute, when Tykhonravov struck again to give the Bulldogs a comfortable, 2-0 margin.  Brooklyn then put the game well out of reach with goals in the 74th and 89th minutes.
 
With the loss, York drops to 2-4, 0-1 CUNYAC, while Brooklyn improves to 3-3, 1-0 CUNYAC.  The Cardinals will host Farmingdale State on Monday at 4:00 p.m.
