PURCHASE, N.Y.— After a scoreless first half, Purchase College netted four goals in the second half to top the York College men's soccer team, 4-0, on Wednesday evening.

Despite the lopsided score, the match was evenly played, with Purchase holding a slight, 18-15, edge in shots and the Cardinals having a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.  The difference was in the goalkeeping, where Purchase goalie Esteban Aguilar stopped all seven shots that came his way, while his teammates took advantage of their scoring opportunities.

The Panthers broke through for the first goal of the match in the 54th minute, thanks to an unassisted goal by Junior Sanguina. Purchase then added another goal just six minutes later by Danny Moaliem.

Then in the 78th minute, the Panthers netted two goals in a 29-second span to put the contest well out of reach.  Sanguina added the final goal for his second of the match.

The loss drops the Cardinals record to 1-2, while Purchase improves to 1-3.  York will visit The College of New Jersey on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
