Women’s Basketball Struggles Against Roanoke College

GREENSBORO, N.C.— The York College women's basketball team fell to Roanoke College in the consolation game of the 2013 Marriot Invitational at Guilford College on Sunday by a score of 80-43.
 
Turnovers were the main culprit in the loss, as the Cardinals committed 28 turnovers, which Roanoke converted into 23 points.  The Cardinals also had trouble stopping Roankoke's Paxton Gwin, who recorded a game-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
 
In the loss, York was led by Shanelle Baldwin, who finished with 11 points.  Stayce Kay Muirhead chipped in six points and nine boards, while Aimee Aikens added eight points and six rebounds.
 
Roanoke is now 1-1, while York drops to 0-2. The Cardinals will try and get in the win column on Tuesday when they visit the College of New Rochelle at 7 p.m.
