Guilford Too Strong for York Women’s Basketball in Season Opener

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The York College women's basketball season got off to a rough start as the Cardinals were overmatched by Guilford College at the 2013 Marriot Invitational, losing 81-26.
 
The game was close in the early going but Guilford closed the half with a 25-7 run to turn a 17-10 game into a 42-17 score at halftime.  Things got worse for the Cardinals in the second half, as Guilford outscored the Cardinals 39-9.
 
Guilford got contributions from many people in the victory but they were led by Morgan King, who had 17 points and seven boards.  York was led by Danielle Dunn with 11 points.
 
The Cardinals will take on Roanoke College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
