Amadou Dominates to Lead York to a 2-0 Victory Over Hunter

NEW YORK, N.Y.  -  Rachidi Amadou led the York College men's soccer team to a needed win over Hunter College on Wednesday at Randall's Island.  Amadou scored both goals to give York the 2-0 victory.
 
Late in the first half at 37:01, Michael Delgado passes the ball to his teammate Amadou to score York's first goal of the match from 18 yards out on the right side. 
 
In the second half, York's defense dominated, destroying Hunter's offense and limiting them to only one shot attempt in the half.  At 80:53, Amadou answered with the second goal of the match off a loose ball in the goalie box.
                                                                    
York's goalie Leszek Stankiewicz contributed seven saves for his team and Hunter's goalie Emmanuel Aprilakis had 10.  This is Stankiewicz's second straight shutout. 
 
The victory improves York's record to 4-7-1 overall while Hunter falls to 2-11.  Both teams are now 2-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. 
 
York's next match is away against conference opponent Medgar Evers College on October 13th at 12:00 p.m.
