York Men’s Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw in Rain-Shortened Match at Old Westbury

OLD WESTBURY N.Y.— The York College men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against the College at Old Westbury on a rainy Monday afternoon. The match was called in the 71st minute because of heavy rainfall and poor field conditions.
York outshot the Panthers 16-6 but was unable to take advantage of the shot disparity. York keeper
Leszek Stankiewicz stopped ten shots to earn the shutout. Old Westbury's Marcelo Guardado stopped five shots in goal.
With the tie, York is now 3-7-1, while Old Westbury is 5-5-2. The Cardinals will host Hunter College on Wednesday. With Aviator Field still unavailable because of the government shutdown, a new field location is still to be determined. Check yorkathletics.com on Tuesday for the new location.
