Women’s Volleyball Downed by USMMA, William Paterson in Tri-Match

KINGS POINT N.Y. – The York College women's volleyball team participated in a tri-match at the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday and lost a pair of contests.  The Cardinals fell to William Paterson, 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-17) before dropping a match to USMMA, 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-17).
 
York was led by Stayce Kay Muirhead, who tallied seven kills and six block assists against William Paterson and eight kills with a .462 hitting percentage (8-2-13) versus USMMA.  Against USMMA, Yasheka Lewis chipped in five kills and four digs, while Allison Li led all players with 11 digs.
 
The losses drop York's record to 6-19.  The Cardinals will look to rebound on Tuesday when they visit the College of Staten Island at 7:00 p.m.
