York Cardinals Win High-Scoring Contest Over Yeshiva

YONKERS, N.Y. – A victory was earned as the York College men's soccer team beat Yeshiva University, 5-3.  York's Frank Rodriguez led his team with two goals for the match.
 
In the first half, York's own Wilkerson C. Jean Jacques scored a quick goal at 1:19.  A little over eleven minutes later, Leon Aboudi of Yeshiva tied the game 1-1 at 12:30, off a free kick.  Rodriguez then broke the tie with an unassisted goal in the 29th minute.  At the half, the score was 2-1.
 
Twenty minutes into the second half, York's Jordan Chin and Andre Adelson assisted teammate Kevin Gonzalez on a goal at 65:22 to put York up 3-1.  Yeshiva's Daniel Benchimol at 77:42 scored another goal off a free kick to cut the York lead to 3-2.
 
Only 14 seconds later, Rachidi Amadou of York answered back with a goal to push the York lead to 4-2.  As play went on, Rodriguez scored his second goal at 89:31 assisted by Amadou, which gave York its biggest lead at 5-2.  
 
Benchimol scored another goal for Yeshiva off an assist from Aboudi with just two seconds remaining to round out the scoring
 
Both teams had a total of 19 shot attempts for the match.
 
York improves their record to 6-8-1 and Yeshiva falls to 1-8.
