Men’s Soccer Tops Medgar Evers, 4-0; Improves to 3-3 in CUNYAC

BOX SCORE
BROOKLYN, N.Y.— Four different players scored goals and the York College men's soccer team defeated rival Medgar Evers College, 4-0, on Sunday, improving its record to 5-7-1 and 3-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.

It was an important win for York, as the three points they earned gave them nine in the CUNYAC standings and moved them up into fourth place—which would give them a home playoff match if the season were to end today.

The Cardinals were never threatened in the match.  Andre Adelson opened the scoring for York—his fifth of the season— off a pass from Jordan Chin in the 16th minute.  Then in the 29th minute, Frank Rodriguez netted a goal with assists from Rohan Burrell and Rachidi Amadou

In the second half, York put the game well out of reach when Kevin Gonzalez netted his first goal of the season after a pass from Menard Millus.  Later Millus added a goal of his own to round out the scoring in the 69th minute.

York keepers Masamba Drame and Shady Mohamed split time in net to earn the shutout.

The Cardinals will visit Berkeley College for a non-conference match on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
