Hitting Errors Plague York in Loss To Farmingdale

JAMAICA, N.Y.— The York College women's volleyball team was done in by a poor hitting percentage and service errors and fell to Farmingdale State College by a score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-18) on Thursday evening.
 
York hit .014 as a team on the night, compared to .156 for Farmingdale.  In addition, the Rams served up 13 aces, while the Cardinals committed 13 service errors. 
 
When the ball was kept in play, it was Farmingdale's Sarah Palladino who took control as she led all players with 12 kills.  Francesca Calderon was solid at libero for the Rams, finishing with a match-high nine digs.
 
York was led by junior Stayce Kay Muirhead and freshman Shauncia McClendon, who each recorded a team-high five kills.  Sophomore Allison Li led York with eight digs, while NaaDira Patrick had four kills and two blocks.
 
York drops to 3-14, while Farmingdale improves to 8-16.  The Cardinals will host Pratt Institute on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
