Men’s Soccer Can’t Convert Scoring Opportunities in Loss to CCNY

BOX SCORE
RANDALL'S ISLAND, N.Y.—  The York College men's soccer team tallied 17 shots, seven of which were on goal, but could get nothing past the keeper, and allowed two-second half goals, as they lost to the City College of New York, 2-0,  in a conference affair early Saturday morning.

For the fifth time in its last six games, York failed to find the back of the net, despite several scoring opportunities.  Meanwhile, CCNY got 24 shots off on the day and finally converted a goal in the 60th minute.  The goal came off a corner kick from Felix Daigo, who found Mostafa Haridi, who headed the ball into the net.

Later, in the 76th minute, the Beavers put the game away thanks to a goal off the foot of Matthew Mbamelu.

With the loss, York is 0-10-1, 0-5-1 in the CUNYAC. CCNY improves to 3-6-2, 2-1-1 in the CUNYAC.  The Cardinals will host Purchase College on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Aviator Field in Brooklyn.
