Baruch Tops Men’s Soccer, 4-0

BOX SCORE
MASPETH, N.Y.—  The York College men's soccer team struggles continued this season, as they fell to CUNY Athletic Conference rival, Baruch College, 4-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Metropolitan Oval.

York was hoping to get some revenge against Baruch after falling to the Bearcats in last year's CUNYAC semifinal round. But it was not meant to be.  The Bearcats put up two goals in the first half and two more in the second and were never threatened.

Baruch's Brian Wright scored two goals, including the first goal in the 20th minute of play.  Christopher Peralta assisted on the first goal and later scored the second goal in the 55th minute.

York had 13 shots on the day, six of which were on goal but could not get anything past keepers Heider Correia and Guy Sharav.

The loss leaves York still seeking that elusive first win of the year, as they drop to 0-9-1, 0-4-1 in CUNYAC play.  Baruch improves to 4-4-3, 3-0-2 in the CUNYAC.

The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday when they visit the City College of New York at Randall's Island.  It will be an early, 9:30 a.m. start for York.
