Women’s Volleyball Goes 0-4 at St. Joseph’s College Invitational

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's volleyball team failed to pick up a win in four matches played at St. Joseph's College (LI) on Friday and Saturday afternoon.  On Friday, York fell to host St. Joseph's 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-21) and Sarah Lawrence College 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-17).  Then on Saturday, the Cardinals lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-8) to Oneonta State and 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-8) to Ramapo College.
 
York did not have much to cheer about, having dropped all 12 sets on the weekend.  However, there were some notable individual performances.  NaaDira Patrick had a match-high seven kills and Allison Li added a team-high 14 digs in the loss to St. Joseph's.   Against Sarah Lawrence, Stayce Kay Muirhead recorded a match-high 10 kills and hit .400, while Sharon Fordyce finished with six kills and a .313 hitting percentage.  Pamela Yap also added 11 digs in that match. 
 
York (6-24) will host two matches Tuesday night. The Cardinals will entertain Medgar Evers College at 6:00 p.m. and Rutgers-Newark University at 8:00 pm.
